Job Opportunity: OR Certified Scrub Tech, Childbirth

Job Description

• Work day shifts consisting of two 12-hour shifts.
• Must be available for call as needed.
• Perform duties related to scrubbing for Cesarean Sections.
• Plan, prepare, and maintain surgical instrumentation and surgical field peri-operatively and intra-operatively.
• Post-operative responsibilities include room and instrument decontamination, stocking the OR, LDRs, Nursery, and Postpartum Rooms.
• Remove outdated supplies and forms routinely.
• Perform a variety of direct and non-direct patient care duties, including clerical, supply, and messenger responsibilities.
• May serve as unit secretary when needed.
• Collaborate with all professional disciplines as part of the Childbirth team to ensure effective patient-family care, safety, and satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification (NBSTSA or NCCT only).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred).
• Must have a valid license/certification as required for the position (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted).
• Fit test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually.
• Documentation of immunizations and health screenings including:

  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccination or proof of immunity.
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30).
  • TB test (skin test or blood test) within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break.
  • Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
• Criminal background checks including:

  • Massachusetts CORI check within 30 days prior to start date.
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation as part of fit test requirements.
• Submission of:

  • Resume with past 7 years of work experience.
  • Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset).
  • Skills checklist.
  • Candidate submission coversheet.
