Job details

Adult inpatient psychiatric RN role
36 hours per week
Night shift
Every other weekend required
Floating required
Rotating shifts required for day-rotate positions; rotation is not required for night positions
Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit overview

Adult psych unit with patients ages 18 to 65
30-bed unit
Patient ratio: 1 RN to 7 or 8 patients

Required qualifications

Valid RN license in Massachusetts
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
2 years of psychiatric experience in an inpatient setting
Psychiatric experience within the last year
BLS issued by the American Heart Association
Experience in charge roles

Clinical setting notes

Unit treats adults with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and dual diagnosis
Some medically acute patients are also cared for, including those needing IVs, CPAPs, wound care, and diabetic care
