Job Opportunity: CT Technologist

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Prepare and position patients accurately for CT procedures.
• Select appropriate anatomic and technical parameters.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice and regulations.
• Monitor patients during procedures and report any abnormal activity.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

Required Credentials & Qualifications

• BLS Provider (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer.
• Radiologic Technologist credential in General Practice from Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program prior to hire or transfer.
• One or more of the following:

  • Nuclear Medical Tech credential from NMTCB.
  • NMTCB(CT) Computed Tomography Specialty Certification or ARRT(CT) certification in Computed Tomography (required in addition to CNMT).
  • Radiologic Technologist credential in Radiography from ARRT or Radiation Therapy specialty.
  • Radiologic Technologist credential in Computed Tomography from ARRT.
• Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience, OR
  • Associate's or Technical degree, OR
  • 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Signed Assignment Agreement (required before onboarding).
• Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
• BLS certification (AHA accepted).
• Completion of specialty and core competency exams with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years and annually respectively.
• Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training).
• Health and immunization requirements including:

  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer, no declinations).
  • Fit Test (preferred before start, required annually).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season or mask requirement if declined.
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations).
  • Tdap valid within 10 years (no declinations).
  • TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA, chest X-ray if positive, annual TB questionnaire.
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Background and verification checks:

  • Criminal background check including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender registry.
  • EPLS check within 90 days of start.
  • Employment verification for past 7 years.
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work.
• Drug screening:

  • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
• Driver’s license or state ID (valid, matching address requirements).
• Professional references: at least two required prior to first assignment.
• Skills checklist and competency assessments completed within one year of start and updated annually.

This position requires adherence to strict credentialing, health, and compliance standards to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
