Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (Night Shift)

Location: Fort Madison, Iowa

Shift: Nights

Job Summary

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient needs and priorities.
• Triage patients safely, rapidly, and accurately upon entry to the emergency care system.
• Coordinate care with other professional disciplines as needed.
• Support unit preparation for Epic EMR go-live; Cerner and Epic EMR experience required.
• Self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; must pass a basic dysrhythmia test during the first week to continue working in the Emergency Department.
• May be placed on call occasionally during low census periods; must be able to respond and arrive onsite within one hour if called in.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in the Emergency Department, including experience within the last year.
• Current certifications in PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
• Experience with Cerner and Epic electronic medical record systems.
