Job Opportunity: Executive Director (Interim Leadership) – Temp, Days

Location: Charlevoix, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall internal and external operations of a skilled eldercare nursing home and sub-acute rehabilitation center. This leadership role ensures compliance with established standards, oversees all facility activities, and directs resources to maintain high-quality patient and medical care services. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Trustees and is accountable for financial integrity, strategic planning, and community engagement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee effective operation of all facility activities and ensure policy compliance.
  • Develop and present annual strategic, tactical, operating, and capital budgets for Board approval.
  • Lead recruitment and retention efforts for medical, clinical, support, and administrative staff.
  • Provide leadership and management of operations and finances; report progress to the Board regularly.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with regional healthcare providers.
  • Participate in legislative and regulatory activities to support long-term care services.
  • Engage in professional groups to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Director of Nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Experience in a Long Term Care setting.
  • Experience in nursing home administration or nursing home operations.
