Job Summary
The Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist is responsible for selecting appropriate ultrasound equipment, performing procedures according to exam specifications, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process. This role requires proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment, adjusting controls based on the body part examined, and documenting patient information accurately. The technologist must assess patient pain and communicate with physicians as needed to facilitate imaging.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree (highly preferred)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Ultrasound/Vascular experience
- Certifications:
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with RDMS Abdomen (AB) and RVT Vascular certifications (required)
- Current Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BCLS) certification (required)
Work Environment & Additional Information
- Personal scrubs of any color are acceptable dress code
- Electronic Medical Record system used: HMS Medhost
- The hospital is a 25-bed general medical and surgical facility with a 24/7 staffed emergency department
- Emphasis on patient safety and reducing medical errors
- The facility has undergone recent renovations to improve patient rooms and emergency services
