Job Summary

The Echocardiography Technologist performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic and/or transesophageal echocardiograms (TTE/TEE) and stress echocardiography according to protocols.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and imaging software.
• Obtain high-quality images and accurate measurements of cardiac structures and function.
• Collaborate with cardiologists to provide preliminary findings for timely interpretation.
• Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure equipment cleanliness, maintenance, and proper functioning; report issues promptly.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in continuing education and training to maintain competency and certifications.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited cardiac ultrasound/echocardiography program.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI.
• Current BLS certification.
• Proficiency in performing echocardiograms and interpreting cardiac anatomy and function.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of clinical echocardiography experience.
• Experience with EMR and PACS systems.
• Familiarity with contrast echocardiography and advanced imaging techniques.
• Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.

Certification Requirements

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS

Licensing

• New Hampshire state license required (NH or Compact license must be in-hand at time of application).
