Critical Care Float

Job Overview

  • Location: Newport News, Virginia
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Unit: Critical care float pool for ICU settings, including Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiac Care Unit, and Oncology ICU

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • ACLS
  • Float experience

Schedule Expectations

  • Every other weekend required, including Saturday and Sunday
  • May be scheduled to work holidays during the assignment
  • Flexible scheduling preferred

Clinical Setting

  • Float assignment across critical care units
  • Patient populations include traumatic injuries, surgical complications, neuro patients, cardiac procedure monitoring, oncology critical care, DKA, and alcohol withdrawal cases
