PACU RN Travel Contract
Overview
- Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
- Setting: Short-term acute care hospital
- Unit type: PACU with IR pre/post recovery
- Shift: Day, 4x10 hours, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- First-timers accepted: Yes
- Local candidates: Not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
- Floating: May float only to PACU or PreOp units
- On-call: Not required
- Weekend/holiday coverage: No weekends, no holidays
Patient Population / Unit Focus
- Adult patients, with occasional adolescents and geriatric patients
- Level I trauma recovery
- Post-op recovery includes neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urology, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant cases
- Does not recover open heart surgeries or liver transplants
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Critical care experience
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
- Preoperative experience
- Experience with Epic
- Dysrhythmia recognition and management
- Blood product administration
- IV vasopressor administration
- ICP monitoring
- Care of ventilated patients
