Job Opportunity: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum Nurse

Location: Utica, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Primarily Maternity care with possible float to NICU as needed
Variable shifts available:
- Night shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (18:30 - 7:00)
- Day shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours (6:30 - 19:00)
Total hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Minimum 5 years of Post Partum nursing experience
Post Partum nursing experience within the last year
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Harassment Prevention Training Certificate
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Required Documentation & Compliance

Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
Emergency Contact Form (prior to start)
Background checks including:
- 7-year residence/work/school history
- EPLS/GSA/SAM (annual)
- HHS/OIG (annual)
- Education verification
Physical exam within 1 year of start
Fit mask test within 1 year and updated annually (specific mask types required)
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific documentation requirements)
Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
Immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination (during flu season)
- Pneumonia vaccination or declination
Professional references:
- 2 references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
- 1 reference for per diem non-acute care roles
Completion of facility-specific onboarding documents including:
- Job description acknowledgment
- Welcome packet acknowledgment
- Online learning modules prior to first shift
- Omnicell form (for nursing staff)
- Pneumococcal declination form if applicable

Competency Requirements

Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% or meet Angoff score)
Color blindness test (one-time, prior to start)
Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (required if assigned to ICU, PCU, ER, CT ICU, or certain med/surg units; expires every 3 years)
