Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Endoscopy
- Shift: Day shift, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (5 days a week, 40 hours/week)
- Patient Ratios:
- Procedure suite: 1:1
- Pre-op and Discharge: up to 4:1
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- On-call: Yes
- Floating: May float within scope to like units, but highly unlikely
- Travel Radius: Must stay within 30 minutes of the facility to respond to calls as expected

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy nursing experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Additional Requirements
- Must complete annual background check including:
- SSN Trace
- County, state, and national criminal checks
- Sex offender registry
- Employment and education verification
- Primary source verification of RN license required (NURSYS verification)
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands without restrictions
- Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
- TB test: Negative T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days of start; if positive, chest x-ray required
- COVID-19 vaccination is highly preferred but not required; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31) or medical/religious exemption; documentation must be uploaded by December 5 deadline
- Respirator medical clearance required annually (RespSafety questionnaire)
Onboarding and Compliance
- Must complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
- Must provide a clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance
- Must complete facility confidentiality and security agreements, contractor forms, and job description acknowledgment prior to start
- Must submit required identification documents: Driver’s license/state ID, Social Security card
- Must provide proof of 2 clinical references, including at least one from the unit of assignment
- Employment history verification of last 3 clinical employers required
- All verification and credentialing items must be initiated within 48 hours of contract signing
Work Conditions and Miscellaneous
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
- Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; new or extended assignments during peak months (Aug-Sept) should be considered carefully
