Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Travel/contract position in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 - 7:15), totaling 36 hours per week.
• Must be able to circulate C-sections.
• Previous EPIC experience required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year.
• Ability to circulate C-sections.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• AWHONN certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
• Background Check: 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, county searches, national criminal search, and education verification. Annual update required for direct hires.
• Massachusetts Statewide iCORI clearance required within 30 days prior to start.
• Education Verification: Third-party verification of highest completed education or transcript with graduation date.
• Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness to work without restrictions.
• Drug Testing: Within 30 days of start, including a comprehensive panel of substances.
• Immunizations and Declinations (if applicable):

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declinations not accepted for maternity).
  • MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella (declinations not accepted for maternity).
  • Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccination (most recent) or facility-specific declination required.
• TB Testing: Two PPDs (one within 90 days, one within a year) or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days; positive TB requires chest X-ray and facility-specific questionnaire.
• Skills Checklist: Required prior to start and updated annually.
• Employment Application: Must include 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days.
• References: Two references within three years of start date.

Additional Notes

• Locals are eligible for the same bill rate as travelers.
• Study materials for medication and telemetry exams will be provided during compliance and orientation process.
• Telemetry exam is not required for OR, Psychiatry, Mother-Baby/Postpartum, and NICU units but is required for Labor and Delivery.
• Candidates must be prepared to prioritize licensing and compliance documentation immediately upon offer.

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs with strong clinical skills, prior EPIC experience, and the ability to pass required competency exams on orientation day.
