Registered Nurse - Hospice (Travel/Contract)

Location: Orlando, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Specialty: Case Manager with Hospice experience
  • Patient Load: 5-7 patients per day (geriatric, end-of-life care)
  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (9:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Territory: Up to 60-mile radius from the office hub; flexibility with territory expected
  • Locals accepted at travel rate
  • Documentation and communication must be timely
  • Dress Code: Scrubs (any color), no jeans
  • Device Provided: iPad (cell phone use not allowed)
  • Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Florida
  • Minimum 1 year of hospice experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Compliance and Background Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • 7-year background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Federal and state-level sanction and exclusion screenings (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG) within 30 days of start
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start confirming freedom from communicable diseases
  • Fit test for N95 mask within 1 year of start (can be completed onsite)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • TDAP within 10 years
    • Positive titers and boosters as applicable for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required annually (flu season Oct 1 - Apr 1)
  • COVID vaccine or facility-specific declination required
  • Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
  • Completion of facility-specific forms including privacy policy, confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, sexual abuse policy, immunization statement, contractor consent, and conflict of interest forms prior to start
  • Passport-style photo for badge required

Additional Notes

  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Must wear scrubs; no jeans allowed
  • Candidate must be flexible with travel within the assigned territory
  • Timely and accurate documentation is critical
