Cath Lab Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: South Bend, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM start, with one late day per week starting at 8:00 AM)
• On-Call: 1 night per week and every 4th weekend on-call rotation
• Weekend Requirement: Every 4th weekend on-call rotation
• Floating: May be assigned to Interventional Radiology if Cath Lab caseload is low
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Team: 3-person call team; typically 4 persons per room if available, but must be able to operate independently with only 3 persons
• Scrub Color Provided: Blue

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• One year or more of total travel experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cannabinoids, MDMA, methamphetamines, buprenorphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, cocaine, methadone, tramadol, benzodiazepines, morphine or opiates)
• Physical exam required
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD or Q-gold accepted; T-spot not accepted)
• Required immunizations or titers with boosters if low:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to assignment start (flu documentation must be on file by December 15)
• COVID vaccine exemption available for medical or religious reasons with proper documentation

Background and Documentation

• Background check required within 90 days of start, covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked in
• Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required
• Employment application required
• Facility-specific documents to be reviewed and signed prior to start, including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements
• Passport-style photo required for badge

Additional Information

• Candidates must complete mandatory facility modules (approximately 8-10 hours) prior to start; paid time for completion is provided
• On-call and weekend rotations require flexibility and ability to work independently
• Prior travel experience in Cath Lab is required for candidates with only 1 year of Cath Lab experience; first-time travelers must have 2 years Cath Lab experience

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs who are comfortable with on-call responsibilities, independent operation in smaller teams, and meeting comprehensive health and compliance standards.
