PACU RN

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Orange, California
• Day shift, 4x10s
• Start time varies between 5:30 AM and 7:30 AM
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• First-timers accepted
• Must work both Pre-Op and PACU
• Floating required to Pre-Op
• Call required: 3–4 call shifts per 6-week schedule
• Weekend work not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with Pediatric patients
• Experience in a(n) Inpatient setting
• Experience in a(n) Outpatient setting
• Preoperative experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with trachs
• Experience with phlebotomy

Patient Population / Case Mix

• Pediatric patients ages 0–25
• Spanish-speaking, high-volume autistic and special needs population
• Trachs, vents, G-tubes, and home-vented children
• Not routinely taking intubated patients
• Surgeries include ENT, urology, neuro, cath lab, general surgery, plastics, GI, LPs, ABRs, and MRIs
• Does not include open hearts, NICU, or transplants
