Job Overview

Specialty: Surgical Services
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
On-call: Required, with 1 call per week, 1 late call, and 1–2 weekends every 6 weeks
Floating: May float between service lines and possibly to sister facilities
First-time travelers: Not accepted
Local candidates: Accepted within a 60-mile radius

Required Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist with 1 year of experience
Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NBSTSA
Radiation badge required; agency must provide the badge
South Carolina license verification required if applicable to the role

Schedule and Work Expectations

Weekend coverage is included in the call requirement
Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Acute care hospital
75 staffed beds
Scrubs provided

All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
Driver’s license or state ID copy required
Social Security card copy required
E-Verify attestation required
Background check required, including 7 years of residence/work history
Education verification required
Employment verification required
2 clinical references required, with at least one from the same unit
Annual skills checklist required
Current application or resume required
Physical exam required
Tdap required within 10 years or declination
TB screening required
Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity documentation required
Hepatitis B documentation or declination required
10-panel drug screen required within 90 days of start
Respirator clearance required annually
Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
COVID vaccination is not required but is preferred

Epic is used for charting
Free parking is available with a pass
Hurricane season may involve emergency response assignments
