Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Wilmington, North Carolina
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Locals accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Cardiac Stepdown (2 years of experience)
• Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Qualifications

• Arterial line management
• Wound Care/Wound Vac
• Charge experience

Clinical Focus

• Cardiac Telemetry
• PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
• Sheath removal
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Post MI
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath
• Cardiac drip management, including titration
• Chest tubes using Emerson/Pleuravac
• External CPAP/BIPAP
• Nasal cannula
• Non-invasive airway management

Unit Details

• Ratios: 1:6, varying by acuity
• Float requirement: follows unit rotation, not first to float
• Weekend requirement: 4 per 4 weeks, flexible
• Unit orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: Navy

• LAAO (Watchman procedure)

• Carotid endarterectomy
• FEM-POP bypass
• Amputations
• Other vascular surgeries
• Cardiac surgeries
• Thoracic surgeries
• General thoracic surgery
• Post cath
• Post DCCV
• Post electrophysiology procedures
• Pacemaker placements
• Patients with atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valvular disease, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, PVD/PAD, vasculitis, carotid stenosis, venous stasis, sheath management, and sheath removal
