Acute Care Float

Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Omaha, Nebraska.
• 13-week contract.
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30.
• 48 hours per week option is listed.
• The unit will open in early December, and travelers will float within the tower for orientation and unit-specific training until the floor opens for patients.
• The assignment is based in a newly remodeled 45-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit caring for adult patients.

Required Qualifications

• BLS.
• 2 years of prior Telemetry experience.
• 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital.
• EPIC charting experience.
• First timers are not accepted.
• Must be more than 100 miles from the facility.
• Pending license is accepted, but the license must be in hand at the time of submission or the traveler will be booked six weeks out.
• RNs must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs.
• Will float within scope to meet facility needs, including potentially floating to Bellevue campus and units such as 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, and SOTU.
• Drips are required on all floors.
• 2 references from work within the past 2 years are required.
• Annual skills checklist required.
• Government-issued photo ID required.
• Background check required within 30 days of start and updated annually.
• Education verification required.
• Nebraska DHHS Adult and Child Services Registry search required within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
• Fit mask required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within the last 10 years.
• Negative TB or chest X-ray required.
• Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B documentation required.
• Drug testing required within 60 days of start and updated annually.
• COVID vaccination documentation, exemption, or declination accepted.
• Flu vaccination documentation or declination is required for applicable start dates.
• Scrubs are mandatory: Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS.
• CPI.
• NIH.

Additional Details

• Weekends: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period.
• Travelers must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Locals are not accepted.
• Parking is available for a fee.
