Job Overview
- Specialty: Surgical Services

- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Evening, 5x8s, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, Monday–Friday
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Weekend requirement: No
- Floating: May float within scope and may be floated or permanently switched to sister facilities as needed
- Local candidates: Accepted on a case-by-case basis within 60 miles
Required Qualifications
- Sterile Processing Technician with 2 years of experience
- Sterile Processing Technician experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Level I Trauma experience
- Experience with sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrap for sterile processing
- National certification: CBSPD or HSPA

Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; no time off will be approved after contract signing
- Proof of 2 clinical references
- Complete application/resume with all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked for the past 7 years
- Education verification required
- Annual skills checklist, if applicable to the unit
- Annual physical exam
- Fit test within 90 days before start and renewed annually
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days before start
- TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days before start
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Tdap within 10 years of start or declination
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or vaccination declination
- Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity documentation
- COVID vaccination documentation or declination
- Flu vaccination documentation or medical/religious exemption during flu season
- Color blind testing
- Competency exam
- Physical assessment for sterile processors completed and signed by a licensed provider within 1 year of start
- CBC and CMP with differential for sterile processing techs
- Orientation modules must be completed before start
- Badge photo required before start
- South Carolina state exclusion list clearance
- Work history verification for clinical employers
- E-Verify attestation
- Driver’s license or state ID copy
- Social Security card copy
Additional Notes
- BLS is not required
- Parking is available for nights and weekends with a one-time $20 pass fee
- Hurricane season assignments may include emergency response team duties
