NICU Registered Nurse

Overview

Travel/contract role in Washington, DC
13-week assignment
Day/night rotating 12-hour shifts
48 hours per week
Start dates listed: 8/17 or 9/14

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in District of Columbia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
Experience working with Neonate patients
Recent tracheostomy and ventilator experience
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience
CVICU experience
One completed travel assignment
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure

Schedule and Work Expectations

Every other weekend and every other holiday
No more than 7 days of requested time off
Missed shifts must be made up within the same week
May float to other critical care units
Locals are accepted
Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed

Unit and Patient Population

NICU caring for premature and ill newborns
May care for patients of any age
Common patient ratio is 1:2, with ratios varying by acuity
