Role Overview

• Travel/Contract RN position in Bristol, Tennessee.
• 13-week contract.
• Day shift: 4x12 hours, 6:30–19:00.
• 48 hours per week.
• 1:7 ratio; candidate must be comfortable with this ratio.
• Every other weekend.
• No call.
• Floating to other units required.
• 16 hours of nonbillable orientation.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Travelers must live 100 miles from the facility.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• RN license verification required.
• NURSYS verification required.
• Skills checklist required.
• Must complete competency exam.
• Must complete color blind testing online.
• Must complete medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable by profession.
• Must complete dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 72 hours after signing.

Preferred

• 3 references preferred.
• ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Certification may be required or preferred depending on unit description.
• NRP is highly preferred prior to start for ER candidates.
• TNCC is highly preferred for ER candidates.

Additional Notes

• General orientation begins on Sundays and includes online CBLs.
• The hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without financial penalty if census decreases.
• Additional shifts picked up above the work commitment may be flexed as needed for census decrease or decreased resource need without penalty.
• Contract RN/LPN team members are expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education.
