Job Details
- Shift: Primarily P shift on Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Schedule: May include every other weekend; options for Fri-Sun contracts or 6 on/8 off schedules
- Floating: Required to float to ICU, Medical-Surgical (MS), and MS/Telemetry units
- Holiday Coverage: Required to work at least 50% of holidays during the contract
- Patient Acuity: Highest acuity patients with specialty equipment cared for by core staff
- Physical Demands: Active role requiring ambulation, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
- Work Environment: Exposure to contagious illnesses; facility operates 24/7, 365 days/year
- Additional Requirements: Ability to work assigned shifts, take call, and work during inclement weather
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience within the last year
- Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Check: 7-year check required within 60 days of start, including alias, counties lived/worked, national and federal criminal searches, sex offender search, social security trace, and international checks if applicable
- Drug Testing: Negative 7-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Immunizations & Health Screening (must be current or initiated within 48 hours of signing):
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or approved exemption)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) - positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Varicella - positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B series or positive titer required; declinations no longer accepted for new candidates
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- Fit Mask Test: Valid fit test within 1 year required (specific mask models accepted)
- Professional References: 2 professional references within last 2 years required
- Resume: Must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days, education details, and contact information
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to work full term at assigned location
- Ability to work substantial portion of assigned shifts
- Ability to take call and work assigned weekends
- Ability to work at least 50% of holidays during contract
