Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVPICU)

Job Description

• Floating required for most positions.
• Must be willing to float to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and medical-surgical units as needed.
• 2 supervisory references required; one must be from a supervisor/manager.
• Prefers close to 2 years of nursing experience.

Required Qualifications

• License: Ohio State or Compact RN license required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience preferred in specialty (Registered Nurse).
• References: Two professional references required (charge RN acceptable for one). Peer references not accepted.

Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP certification required for NICU RNs.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required as applicable.
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - Required as applicable.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked).
• Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or in-house verification if needed.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
• Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting within 60 days of start, must be updated for each new contract.
• Sex offender search, Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, Ohio Inmate Registry, Ohio Medicaid Exemption, and Ohio State Abuse Registry searches required within 30 days of start.
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days prior to start.
• Employment application and resume required.
• Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe; special protocols for positive TB results.
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start.
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 31 - May 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted with facility approval.
• Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination required.
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella vaccination or immunity documentation required.
• N95 fit testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start (facility accepts signed Infection Control Policy in lieu of physical exam copy).

Additional Information

• Must comply with facility float expectations.
• Legal name on all documents must match RN license and certifications exactly (no nicknames or aliases).
• Candidates undergoing name changes must provide proof.
• Address on driver’s license and other documents must be consistent and not within 60 miles of the facility to avoid being considered local.

• No explicit prior travel experience required.
