Job Opportunity: Dental Hygienist
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: Approximately 6 weeks
Job Description
- Perform toothbrush cleanings on children ages 1-5 at multiple local school districts (up to 50 miles travel).
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday, no weekends.
- Shift hours: Approximately 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM (may vary).
- Guaranteed 32 hours per week.
- Local candidates are accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Dental Hygienist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background checks including county criminal, national sex offender, education verification, and others must be current and updated annually.
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, updated annually.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
- Immunizations and health documents required and must be current, including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B status
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
- COVID vaccination or approved exemption
Certifications and Competencies
- Must maintain current BLS certification.
- Additional certifications may be required depending on assignment specifics (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) but are not mandatory for this role.
- Competency exams and skills checklists must be completed and kept current as required.
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references verified within 6 months of start.
- Employment history verification for the past 7 years required.
- Explanation required for any employment gaps longer than 30 days.
- Various facility-specific policies and agreements must be reviewed and signed prior to start.

- Mileage reimbursement provided for travel to school districts.
- Candidates must renew all expiring documents prior to clearance for assignment start.
