Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must have an Ohio or compact nursing license (required upon submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) nursing experience required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Must be willing to obtain STABLE certification if not already certified
• Call shifts are required
• Recent travel nursing experience within the last year is required
• No holiday requests off (RTO) will be approved during the contract period; holiday work schedule may vary

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Recent travel nursing experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• STABLE certification
• SPT certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Certifications Required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA only
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA only (as applicable)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AAP only
• STABLE certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – preferred depending on unit
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – if applicable to unit

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I-9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID
• E-Verify or attestation
• 7-year criminal background check (updated annually) including:

  • SSN trace
  • County, national criminal, sex offender searches
  • Education verification
• Fingerprint attestation (OH BCI and FBI) within 12 months, updated annually
• Physical exam within 12 months, updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Immunizations and titers:

  • TDAP within 10 years or signed declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) titers or vaccines
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccine
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• Respirator fit testing prior to start
• Competency exams and core training modules updated annually
• References: proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Completion of facility-specific onboarding, orientation, and safety training

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete required online and onsite training modules within the first week of assignment
• Photo for badge required (headshot, shoulders up, white background)
• Call shifts are mandatory; holiday time off cannot be guaranteed
• Recent travel nursing experience is mandatory (within the last year)
