Location: Burlington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), every other weekend and every other holiday
- Patient Population: Primarily Medical-Surgical (MS)
- Float Requirement: Must float to all campuses as needed for patient care
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Telemetry: Remote monitoring experience required
- Charge RN experience preferred
- EPIC system experience required
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- First-time travelers are welcome (prior travel experience not required)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for North Carolina
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- Pass/Fail Dysrhythmia/EKG exam required for all RNs (except Behavioral Health or Case Managers)
- EPIC test required
- NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (for badge issuance)
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification (Associate's degree in nursing or higher required)
- Transcript/Diploma as proof of highest education
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Fit mask test (annual, specific approved N95 respirators)
- Physical exam (if applicable)
- Fingerprinting required for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions only
Additional Requirements
- Must be flexible with scheduling and adhere to zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Must complete all compliance documentation by the deadline (12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date)
- Must review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement
- Two supervisory references required (one within 12 months and one within 24 months prior to start)
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history required
- Verification of all employment within last 5 years required
- Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal
Preferred Qualifications
- Charge RN experience
- ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Certification (may be required depending on unit)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification may be preferred
Notes
- Candidates must submit a professional badge photo meeting strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire) prior to clearance
- Candidates must acknowledge and pass required EPIC and Dysrhythmia/EKG testing (two attempts allowed, remediation required after first failure)
- Must be willing to float to all campuses within the system as needed
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Pass/Fail testing for EKG and medication administration required, with acknowledgement of pass/fail testing policies
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training
- NURSYS license verification
- State License 1 verification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Telemetry remote monitoring experience
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgement
