Registered Nurse (CCU) - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Athens, Georgia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Unit: Critical Care Unit (CCU)
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
- Hours per week: 36
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:5-6 (LTAC setting)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
- Experience in a Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Skills in tracheostomy (trachs) care
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Unexpired government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license or state ID)
- Background checks within 1 year, including SS trace, county searches (7 years), nationwide sex offender search
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Transcript/Diploma verification (High School diploma required)
- NURSYS license verification prior to start
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Signed acknowledgment of facility safety and orientation manuals
- Photo for badge (clear, plain background)
- Review and completion of staff orientation, key clinical policies, dress code, and onboarding forms
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Fit testing for N95 mask within past year (annual update required)
- Immunizations/vaccinations or documented immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, T-SPOT, or chest X-ray) within 6 months prior to start (annual update required)
- TB questionnaire completed within 6 months prior to start
- Drug screening within 12 months prior to start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references within 3 years of hire
- Employment application and skills checklist required
