Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech

Location: Plattsburgh, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Job Description

• Rotating day and evening shifts
• Floating to additional imaging locations required
• Weekend and on-call shifts required
• Equipment used includes GE Logiq 9 and PACS-Visage
• Work schedule: Monday to Sunday, no block schedules
• Reliable personal transportation strongly recommended (public transportation not accessible)
• Vehicle should have all-season or snow tires during November – April

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with experience within the last year
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records system
• ARDMS certification (Abdominal and/or Obstetrics) required
• Must be able to explain any employment gaps over 90 days
• Complete and detailed work history required (including bed count, EMR, facility type, etc.)

Certifications & Licenses

• ARDMS certification
• State license verification (primary source within 30 days of start and upon expiration)
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications as applicable (AHA standards required)
• National tech certification verification within 30 days of assignment start
• Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification as required by job
• Drug testing within 12 months of start (required for New York facilities)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• N95 Fit Mask test prior to assignment and updated annually
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented declinations:

  • Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B series and titer or signed declination
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Flu seasonal vaccination or exemption (seasonal requirement)
  • Pneumonia vaccination or declination (for New York placements)
  • COVID vaccination or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months, updated annually

Compliance & Documentation

• Background checks including SSN trace, nationwide, sex offender, and state-specific searches
• Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent form (if applicable)
• New York Staff Exclusion List and Central Registry checks (if applicable)
• Photo for badge (passport style, plain background, no logos or hats)
• Auto insurance proof if using personal vehicle
• Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgment and facility-specific policies
• Completion of EPIC and other required training modules prior to start
• References: 2 professional references from assignments within last 3 years
• Employment application and skills checklist within 12 months
• Work history verification for last 2 years

Additional Notes

• Bi-weekly orientations available on Mondays
• No block scheduling allowed
• Must complete COVID questionnaire and vaccination attestation prior to start
• Candidate must have reliable transportation due to lack of public transit options

This position is ideal for an experienced Ultrasound Tech with ARDMS certification and recent EPIC experience, who is flexible with rotating shifts and floating assignments, and is prepared to meet comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
