Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Per Diem)

Job Description

Radiation Therapists are needed for per diem shifts. Shift volume will vary, and there may be weeks without any needs.

Shift Details:

• Day shift
• Monday through Friday (no weekends)
• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Orientation:

• Just-in-time orientation during the first shift

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapy experience
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiation Therapy
• Current Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license in Radiation Therapy
• CRT Fluoroscopy license
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
• 2 references required (supervisor level or above; at least 1 must be submitted)

Preferred Qualifications:

• ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• Experience with Epic charting system (not required)

Additional Information

• COVID-19 vaccine required; booster preferred (religious and medical exemptions accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccine required from October 1 to April 30 (religious/medical exemptions accepted; if declined, mask must be worn at all times)
• Previous staff at any affiliated facilities must have a 2-year separation before re-hiring
• Dress code: Solid color scrubs
• Parking available (fee applies)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Candidates must provide and maintain the following:

Certifications & Licenses

• Current CRT Radiation Therapy license and Fluoroscopy permit issued by California Department of Public Health
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA only)
• ARRT certification preferred but not required
• State license verification showing unencumbered California license

Background Checks

• Nationwide 7-year background check including Social Security Trace, County, OFAC, FACIS III
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Sex Offender Search annually

Health & Immunizations

• Physical exam or statement of health within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test (specific mask types required for patient care areas)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual requirement)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity (titer or vaccination series)
• Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series
• Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30)
• COVID-19 vaccination (Pfizer/Moderna two doses or J&J single dose) with booster preferred; medical/religious exemptions accepted for booster only
• Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of assignment and annually

References & Employment History

• 2 references required (supervisor or manager level preferred)
• Employment history covering 7 years with no gaps over 30 days
• Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty

Notes

• Charting system used is Epic; experience is preferred but not mandatory
• Just-in-time orientation provided on first shift
• Masking and vaccination policies are strictly enforced with allowances for exemptions as noted
• Solid color scrubs required for shifts
