Job Opportunity: Sonographer (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Mooresville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Schedule: Part-time, 8 AM - 5 PM on Tuesdays and Fridays
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1
  • Patient Age Group: Adults and Geriatrics
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
  • Required Certifications: RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) and RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist)
  • Licensure: North Carolina or Compact license required and must be in hand
  • Scrub Color: Wine
  • First-Timer Friendly: Yes
  • Local Candidates: Accepted within 75 miles
  • Weekend Requirement: No

  • Orientation: Bi-weekly

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Identification: I9 or Attestation, Driver’s License or Government-issued photo ID, Social Security Card (if used for I9)
  • Background Checks:
    • Must be completed within 90 days of start
    • Includes SSN Trace, counties lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, alias searches, nationwide and sex offender checks, international searches if applicable
    • Education verification required for Radiology/Cardiology specialties
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days
    • OFAC Sanctions List Search required within 30 days of start
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO as applicable (AHA/AAP standards)
    • National tech certification verification required (e.g., ARDMS or CCI for Sonographers)
    • CEUs and pass/fail testing required except for RRTs
  • Health Requirements:
    • Physical exam within 12 months of start
    • Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months
    • Immunizations: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella (vaccines or positive titers, no exemptions), Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination), Varicella (vaccines or positive titer)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with specific protocols for positive history)
    • Annual TB questionnaire
    • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination required for new candidates starting October through March (no exemptions)
    • Polio vaccine or attestation required
  • References: Two professional references from employment within 12 months, at least one supervisor
  • Employment Application: Required with 7 years of work history
  • Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually

Facility & Orientation Specifics

  • Guest Account: Must be set up prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems
  • Competency Exams: Unit-specific competency exams required
  • Online Modules: Must be completed prior to orientation
  • Competency Checklists (CBOs): Must be completed within 3 weeks after start date
