Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Titusville, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Patient Ratio: Must be comfortable with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Level of Care: Patients typically require Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level care
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required within scope of practice
• Block Scheduling: Not allowed
• Orientation: Mandatory 5 shifts (36-40 hours) during clinical orientation week
• Local Travel: Not open to local travelers within 30 miles of facility

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BCLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (required for all RNs except PACU, OR, Women’s Center, or Case Management)

Preferred Experience

• Orthopedic nursing care, specifically total joint replacement, is strongly preferred

• 210 Total Staffed Beds
• Charting System: Meditech
• Parking: Free in any unrestricted space

Work Policies & Requirements

• 3 call outs result in termination
• Shift change notices:

  • Refusal to change with less than 48 hours’ notice may forfeit guaranteed hours
  • Refusal to change with 1 week or more notice may result in termination
• Must complete approximately 4 hours of modules prior to start date
• Holiday work requirements based on number of holidays during assignment:

  • 1-2 holidays: work 1 evening and 1 holiday
  • 3 holidays: work 1 evening and 2 holidays

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background check within 6 months including social security trace, education verification, and nationwide checks
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
• Education verification (ASN, BSN, or MSN for RNs)
• Drug screening (9 panel within 3 months of start)
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer or series)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation or approved exemption
• Flu vaccine documentation encouraged but not required for contract workers
• Two professional references within two years of start
• Skills checklist and competency exams with passing scores required

Orientation & Training

• Facility-specific job description must be completed
• Completion of assigned eLearning modules prior to start (typically assigned 2 weeks before start)
• Non-employee orientation quiz and confidentiality statements must be completed
• Various facility-specific acknowledgements and forms must be reviewed and signed
