Position Details

• Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – RRT required, CRTs not accepted
• Start Date: January 5
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years; first-timers only accepted if 3+ years experience
• Pediatrics experience required
• Weekend shifts: As needed; weekend block schedule generally not accommodated but may be considered
• Local candidates within 100 miles radius not accepted
• Tennessee state license required at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted)
• Must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines for travelers
• Driver’s license must be included with submission

Certifications & Licenses Required

• RRT credential mandatory
• Tennessee professional license (or multistate license) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for pediatrics; not required for ER at this facility
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for newborn nursery, postpartum, NICU (if applicable)
• Other certifications may be required depending on assignment area

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 60 days of start including: statewide, county, federal searches, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
• Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only)
• Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted as substitute)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending results accepted)
• Fit test for 3M N-95 mask within 1 year (annual renewal required)
• Immunizations required:

  • TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, updated annually
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed)
  • Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed)
  • Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Tdap (only required for candidates working at children’s hospital)
• Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and internal evaluations required for contract renewals or extensions
• Facility-specific dress code:

  • Navy blue scrubs for RNs
  • Caribbean blue scrubs for RRTs (South & Germantown locations)
  • No prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
  • Business casual with lab coat for RN Case Managers
• Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses with glare, recent within 6 months)

Notes

• All Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included at time of submission
• Onsite fit test and other facility-specific documents must be completed prior to start date
• Candidates must be fully compliant with all documentation and credentialing requirements before starting

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with pediatric experience who are licensed in Tennessee and able to commit to a 13-week travel contract in Memphis, TN.
