Job Description

• Role: Registered Nurse - Home Health
• Field Staff covering Merced County and surrounding areas within a 50-mile radius
• Average Patients per Day: 5-7
• Types of Cases: Geriatric Home Health
• Required Experience: Minimum 1 year Home Health experience (higher value confirmed)
• First-time Travelers: Not accepted
• Weekend Work: To be discussed during interview
• On-call: Not required
• Locals Accepted: Yes, at travel rate
• Pending License: Not accepted
• EMR Experience: Required with HCHB system
• OASIS Experience: Required
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • CA Nursing License (must be current and in hand)

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• California RN License
• BLS Certification (preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• Experience with HCHB EMR system
• OASIS experience required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Home Health nursing experience
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form prior to start
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year residence/work/school history
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check (annual)
  • HHS/OIG check (annual)
• Competency exams as applicable (Medication Test/Pharmacology, general competency exam)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Immunization and health documentation including:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (proof of vaccination or titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccination, or history of chickenpox)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season)
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within one year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
• References:

  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care
• Annual skills checklist required

Notes

• Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate between patient homes
• Weekend requirements to be discussed during interview
• No on-call duties required

This position is ideal for experienced Home Health RNs with strong geriatric care skills and proficiency in HCHB EMR and OASIS documentation, looking for a travel contract in California.
