Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Newnan, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: Weekend every other week
• Call: None
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Minimum Experience: 1 year (Unit does not accept first-time travelers)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (implied by "Unit does not accept first time travelers")
• Holiday Work: Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Orientation: Bi-weekly orientation schedule; full compliance required to start on time, otherwise start delayed by 2 weeks
• Locals Accepted: Yes, at same rate

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in specified specialties
• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in PACU/Pre-op/Endo/CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): May be required depending on specialty
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no re-certification required)
• State License: Must be licensed in Georgia
• NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Tech Cert Verification: National allied license verification if applicable

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs
• Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
• Competency Exam: Required for Nursing by Aya only
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for certain specialties (Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Card tele/step-down, ICU, PCU) with up to 3 attempts allowed

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Required within 12 months; can start with TB test pending if TB questionnaire on file
• TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
• Immunizations:

  • Rubeola (Measles): 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Mumps: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B: Series, antibody titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
• Flu Vaccination: Required or declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

Documentation & Verification

• Background Check: Required within 30 days of start, including multiple county and national checks
• Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
• References: 2 clinical references required by Aya
• Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
• Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process

Additional Notes

• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start.
• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment).
• Maximum Return to Orientation (RTO) time allowed is 7 days.

This position is suitable for experienced Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of clinical experience and prior travel contract experience, who are compliant with required certifications, competencies, and health documentation.
