Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)

Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital case management experience, specifically in care coordination and discharge planning. Hospital experience is mandatory.
First-Time Travelers: Accepted (clinical screening required)
Weekend Requirement: Weekend rotation plus meeting department needs
Licensing: California state license required. Pending licenses accepted only if licensed by start date.
Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days

Certifications Required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Must be AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certified
BLS (Basic Life Support): Must be AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certified
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Must be AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certified
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
CHEMO (Chemotherapy): Verify if required based on clinical track
EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): If required, AWHONN or NCC-EFM certification acceptable
Fire Card: Required; must be completed prior to or within 30 days post-start
Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB): Verify if required
NIH Stroke Certification: Required every 2 years if applicable
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Verify if required
IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other): Verify if required
State License: Must have a valid professional license for California
NURSYS Verification: Required for all RNs

Required Background and Compliance Checks

Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
E-Verify attestation required
Education verification required for all candidates
Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
Respirator safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
Fit mask test required annually (specific mask types accepted)

Competencies and Exams

Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
Competency exams as required by specialty
Color Blind Testing (if specifically requested)
Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Assessment or EFM certification for L&D RNs

Documentation and History Requirements

Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors) with month/year format
Skills checklists updated annually as applicable

Facility Specific Requirements

Badge photo (passport style with neutral background) required
Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
- Core modules for profession and region
- Specialty-specific modules if applicable
- Annual regulatory requirements
Epic access training modules required for SoCal and certain other regions
Compliance with floating policy acknowledgment (may be required to float to other Providence facilities)

Additional Notes

Weekend rotations are required
