Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Role: Cath Lab RN
- Schedule: 4 shifts of 10 hours each (0630-1700, 0730-1800, 1000-2030)
- On-call: Up to 2 days per week and every other weekend
- Patient Population: Adults
- Patient Diagnoses: Coronary and peripheral diagnostic and intervention, cardioversion/TEE
- Procedure Rooms: 5 total (3 Cath, 2 EP; 1 EP room under renovation)
- Average Daily Cases: 18-20
- Equipment: Philips and Siemens X-ray, Epic documentation, GE Maclab hemodynamics, Acist, Synchvision
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience
- Preferred: Structural heart experience
- Experience with Epic documentation and GE Maclab hemodynamics preferred
- Prior travel experience: Not required (1st time travelers accepted)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse license valid in Missouri
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Circulate, Conscious Sedation, Telemetry skills required
- Scrub skills preferred
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Criminal background check (7-year search, statewide, nationwide, international if applicable) within 6 months of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, run quarterly
- Education verification of highest nursing degree
- Primary source verification of RN license (NURSYS for Missouri)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required, expires every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2 negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold within 1 year)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination documentation
- Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption during flu season
- Fit mask testing (N95 respirators), renewed annually
- Background checks and state-specific searches as required for Missouri
Additional Requirements
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists (updated annually)
- HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality, latex allergy, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (approx. 16 hours) through WorkRamp, unless completed in current calendar year
- References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
- Employment application and performance evaluations as applicable
