Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MedSurg) - Travel/Contract

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm - 7:30am), including weekdays and weekends

Job Details

• Blocked Schedule: Unit cannot guarantee schedule requests but will try to accommodate travelers

Required Certifications

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC) but not mandatory for this role

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of RN license verification
• Candidate profile including work history
• Specialty-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
• Minimum 2 clinical or manager/charge references within the past year
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (updated annually)
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within required timeframes)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years, preferred)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccination
  • Flu seasonal vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 30 days of start and updated annually
• Color blind testing and competency exams as applicable
• Completion of facility-specific learning modules and Cerner training prior to orientation
• ReadySet (RS) health assessment surveys completed before start date
• Attendance expectation: Facility tolerates only 2-3 call-offs per contract

Additional Notes

• Candidates must have all required certifications on file prior to start; no pending certifications allowed
• Facility requires strict adherence to attendance policies due to prior attendance issues
• Badge photo and other facility-specific documents must be completed prior to clearance
• Cerner EMR training modules are mandatory and tracked by the facility’s educational team
• Stroke education CEUs (8 hours annually) required for certain units, including MedSurg

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of MedSurg experience seeking a travel contract with night shifts in a hospital setting using Cerner EMR. Prior travel experience is not required.
