Job Opportunity: Dialysis Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 9:00 PM)
• Schedule: On-call rotation and every other weekend required
• Specialty: Dialysis (Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis)
• Experience Required: Minimum 18 months recent permanent dialysis experience prior to travel
• Patient Care:

  • Provide intermittent hemodialysis (IHD) in dialysis unit and bedside ICU patients
  • Connect and disconnect patients from peritoneal dialysis treatment
  • CRRT therapy is NOT provided (managed by ICU nurses)
• Equipment: Primarily Fresenius dialysis machines; full orientation provided

Required Qualifications

• License: Must have permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license in hand
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross
• References: One recent reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in dialysis specialty required for submission
• Background Checks: Comprehensive background checks including fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) required and must be updated annually
• Physical & Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to safely perform job functions
  • Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually
  • Immunizations and health screenings including Tdap, TB test, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, flu vaccine (or approved exemptions)
  • Drug screening (10 panel) within 12 months, updated annually

Additional Requirements & Information

• Onboarding: Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Competency Testing: Baseline competency exams in medication administration and ECG interpretation required at orientation
• Employment History: Application must include at least 3 years prior work history with 2 years in acute care and similar specialty area
• Fingerprinting: Must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite
• References: Two references required from employment within one year of start (managerial or supervisory level)
• Immunization Declinations: Not accepted unless approved medical or religious exemptions are submitted and approved through agency and facility process

Summary

This is a travel/contract dialysis RN position requiring a minimum of 18 months recent permanent dialysis experience, Ohio RN licensure, and current BLS/ACLS certifications. The role involves day shifts with on-call and weekend rotation, providing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis care in both outpatient and ICU settings. Extensive onboarding, health, and background compliance are mandatory.
