Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Brownwood, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Preferred start date: January
  • Shift: Day Shift, approximately 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (end time may vary by about an hour)
  • On-call required
  • Must live more than 150 miles from the facility or reside in a metropolitan area
  • Experience with MedHost and GE MacLab preferred
  • Prior travel experience strongly preferred

Licensure & Certifications Required

  • Texas RN License or Compact License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable
  • NIH Stroke Certification (annual updates required)
  • Additional certifications may be required as applicable (PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC)

Experience Requirements

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (time sensitive, within 72 hours of contract signing)
  • TB questionnaire annually
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or exemption required for 2025-26 season
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start (no exceptions)

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete facility-specific documents and acknowledgments prior to start (e.g., vaccination info, TB and occupational exposure, confidentiality, compliance, patient-centered pledge)
  • Pass/fail testing required for telemetry nurses (EKG/medication) with up to 2 attempts
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Color blindness testing required
  • Skills checklist and employment application required, updated annually
  • Two professional references within 3 years required
