Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Greensburg, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Licensure: Must have current RN license in hand for Pennsylvania
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (front and back of card required)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support), preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
• Experience: Minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience required
• Prior Travel Experience: Not specified as required

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form (required prior to start)
• Background Checks within 30 days of start, including:

  • SS Trace and County searches for last 7 years
  • Nationwide and Sex Offender searches
  • Pennsylvania Statewide Patch Certificate
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Fingerprint Results (FBI Fingerprinting) with specific procedures for obtaining and submitting results
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (with annual TB questionnaire if applicable)
• Immunizations or titers within 10 years for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or documented declination during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 1)

Competencies & Training

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for ER & Behavioral Health units
• Facility-specific orientation and training modules to be completed prior to start, including:

  • Orientation Checklist
  • Pandemic Attestation
  • Code of Conduct
  • Confidentiality Agreement
  • Disclosure Statement
  • Assessment of Patient Policy (must pass quiz with 100%)
  • Interdisciplinary Plans of Care (must pass quiz with 100%)
  • Skin Integrity Training (must pass quiz with 100%)
  • Mobility Training (must pass quiz with 100%)
  • Catheter Training (must pass quiz with 100%)
  • Cardiac Procedure Education (for Telemetry units)
  • Competency Assessment form (for Telemetry units)

References & Skills

• 2 Professional References required for Travel, Allied, Per Diem Acute Care roles (within 3 years of start)
• Skills Checklist required annually

This position requires a fully compliant RN with current licensure, ACLS and BLS certifications, and all required health and background documentation completed prior to start. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
