Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract


Experience Requirements

  • Preferred close to 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics.
  • 2 supervisory or manager references required (professional references only; peer references not accepted).

Licensure & Certifications

  • Ohio State license required for Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs).
  • RRTs must have NBRC certification.
  • Required certifications (AHA only; name on certification must exactly match legal name and license):
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required for NICU RNs
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • State license verification required within 30 days of start.
  • NURSYS verification for RNs, LPNs/LVNs as applicable.

Job Requirements

  • Floating is required for most positions.
  • 2 professional references required (at least 1 supervisor or manager).
  • Copy of resume or employment application required.
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually.

Background & Compliance

  • Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked).
  • Education verification required (standalone verification through National Student Clearing House).
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
  • Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting required within 60 days of start; must be updated for each new contract.
  • Sex offender search, state-specific searches (Nurse Aide Registry, Inmate Registry, Medicaid Exemption, Abuse Registry) required within 30 days of start.
  • Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days of start.
  • Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
  • Affiliating Health Record must be completed.
  • Infection Control Policy review and signature required prior to start.
  • Fit Mask (N95) testing required within 1 year of start; annual updates required.
  • TB testing options include 2 PPDs or QGOLD/TSPOT within 12 months; additional requirements for positive results.
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 31 - May 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted with facility approval.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within 10 years of start.
  • Immunization requirements include Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B (vaccination or declination accepted).

Additional Notes

  • Candidate's legal name must match all licenses, certifications, and official documents.
  • Ohio driver's license address must not be within 60 miles of the facility to avoid being considered local.
  • Fingerprinting results can pend at start if facility completes fingerprints onsite, but candidate must complete fingerprint appointment before clearance.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.

This position is ideal for respiratory therapists with approximately 2 years of experience who are licensed in Ohio and comfortable with floating duties in a pediatric hospital setting. Compliance with extensive background checks, immunizations, and certifications is mandatory.
