Registered Nurse - ER

Location: Kingman, Arizona Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Start: ASAP

Schedule and Assignment

• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Primary Assignment: ER
• Float Scope: Float between ED and CDU (Observation Unit)
• Ratio: 1:4
• Orientation: Every Monday
• Scheduling: EOW, holidays included. Blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed.

Eligibility Restrictions

• Clinicians who live within 100 miles of the facility cannot be considered.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arizona
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including ED experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• TNCC
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Background and Credential Checks

• 7-year background search completed within 30 days of start, updated annually. Includes SSN trace, county searches for the last 7 years of locations lived, worked, or attended school, and nationwide sex offender search.
• Education verification, required for all candidates
• Transcript or diploma, required for all candidates
• Exclusion checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG), required annually

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam: Within 1 year of start, not required annually
• Fit test: Within 1 year of start, updated annually
• TB screening: Negative PPD, QuantiFERON-Gold, or T-Spot within 1 year of start, updated annually. A past positive chest X-ray within 5 years of start is accepted in place of this, with an annual TB questionnaire.
• TB questionnaire: Required annually
• Measles, mumps, and rubella: For candidates born in 1957 or later, titer or 2 MMR doses at least 28 days apart. Candidates born before 1957 should confirm with the facility.
• Hepatitis B: Titer, declination, or 3-dose vaccine series
• Varicella: Titer, 2 vaccines at least 4 weeks apart, or history of chickenpox
• Drug screen: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start. Instant drug screen is acceptable. Not required annually.
• Influenza: Vaccine or declination required during flu season (10/1 to 3/31)

Competencies and Documentation

• Medication/pharmacology competency exam, as applicable
• Competency exam, as applicable by profession and specialty
• Skills checklist, required annually
• 2 professional references within 3 years of start
• Facility-specific forms, to be completed as a priority: security and confidentiality agreement, behavioral expectations, right to know, HIPAA and information security training, agency candidate form, and job description
