Schedule and Unit Details

• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours (6:45 to 19:15), 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Unit scheduling: Open to 3x12s or 4x12s
• Unit size: 29 rooms
• Average daily census: 114
• Typical ratio: 1:4

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including ED experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• NIHSS certification

Assignment Expectations

• Emergency team: After accepting, the unit manager may assign you to an emergency team. This may require staying at the facility until the event passes or serving on the relief team. Accepting the contract means you agree to report as assigned.
• Holiday availability: Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holidays each year: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's. Some units may need coverage on Halloween, which is not a paid holiday.
• Hurricane season: Emergency preparedness checklist is for review only and is required for assignments from June 1 to November 30.
