Job Summary

The Polysomnographic Technician performs routine and complex polysomnographic recordings, including PSG and CPAP/BiPAP testing. The role requires technical knowledge of monitoring equipment and the ability to recognize recording parameters. The technician provides quality patient care, educates patients about sleep studies and therapies, and follows department and hospital policies. Strong independent judgment and minimal supervision are expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Connect and disconnect patients from electrodes and assist as needed.
• Educate patients on sleep studies, sleep apnea, and CPAP titration.
• Monitor patients during sleep studies and respond according to policy.
• Administer CPAP/BiPAP therapy following department procedures.
• Complete all required documentation accurately.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Polysomnographer, with experience within the last year.
• BLS certification.
• Certification in one of the following: RPGST, RST, or SDS.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
