Radiation Therapist - New Jersey

Job Overview

• Deliver planned radiation therapy treatments accurately with minimal supervision.
• Operate treatment units and maintain communication with patients during therapy.
• Perform daily and monthly quality assurance (QA) on linear accelerators (linac) and CT equipment.
• Accurately perform Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), and portal imaging.
• Conduct CT simulation for radiation therapy following protocols, including use of IV contrast and respiratory gating.
• Construct immobilization devices and special blocks (electron and cerrobend) as needed.
• Complete procedure verification assessments in MOSAIQ prior to simulation.
• Lead CT simulation training for therapists, including respiratory gating, QA, mould room duties, and SBRT simulation.
• Manage MOSAIQ system for treatment scheduling, prescriptions, imaging, and verification.
• Attend weekly chart rounds and review treatment planning parameters.
• Follow all safety standards, emergency procedures, and radiation protection principles (ALARA).
• Operate CT on rails for IGRT delivery and document shift tracking in MOSAIQ.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and monitor units; recognize and document treatment plan changes.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved Radiation Therapy course.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and registration.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with IMRT, 3D conformal radiation therapy, SRS, SBRT, Cone Beam CT (CBCT), and Align RT technology.

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks (89 days)
