Job Opportunity: RN - Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process. Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation of care, and participation in interdisciplinary team discussions.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver care to patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
Organize and prioritize care based on patient and family needs.
Circulate for C-sections and triage obstetric patients.
Assess readiness to learn and developmental levels of patients and families; use patient education materials appropriately.
Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and promote cost-effective care.
Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
Recognize and synthesize complex assessment data to determine care priorities.
Anticipate discharge needs and support family advocacy.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
Experience in Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school

Education

Required: Nursing Diploma OR ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing school.
Preferred: BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school.

Additional Information

Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
