Job Opportunity: O.R. Technician (CST) - Contract

Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: Approximately 9 weeks (60 days)
Work Setting: Exposure to a variety of clinical conditions, technologies, and environmental settings.
Shift Limitation: Per diem position; must not work more than 16 shifts in 13 weeks.

Job Description / Duties

• Show medication label to the person administering the medication.
• Save all medication vials and/or ampoules until the patient leaves the room.
• Announce aloud the name, concentration, amount, and route of administration of medication.
• Do not dispense narcotics or controlled drugs; these must be dispensed by a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Assist in meeting operational needs, including:

  • Transporting patients to and from the surgical suite as directed.
  • Notifying CNM of changes in par levels and instrumentation or equipment specific to the unit.
  • Keeping the operating room and sterile storage areas and equipment organized.
  • Assisting in updating preference cards as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 1 year of experience.
• Current experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist within the last year.
• Certification from CST, NBSTSA, TS-C, or NCCT.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
