Respiratory Therapy

Overview

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
Employment type: Travel
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour day shift, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend/holiday rotation: Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
Registered Respiratory Therapist with 3 years of experience
Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NBRC CRT
Associate degree
Experience working with Pediatric patients

Preferred

Advanced NRP

Clinical Responsibilities

Supports all patient care areas, including the ED and general care areas
May float to other locations within the health system with advance notice
Provides emergency support for Rapid Response and Code Blue
Performs basic respiratory care, critical care, ventilator management, and patient assessment using assess-and-treat protocols
Cares for patients of all ages

Additional Notes

Must be outside a 50-mile radius of Wausau
On-call may be used for low census
If called back after being placed on call, minimum callback pay is 2 hours
During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times
