Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Observation Unit / Inpatient
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Hours: Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Unit Size: 8 beds, 2 RNs per shift
• Float: Required to float to all inpatient units as needed
• On Call: May be low censused and put on call; minimum 2-hour callback
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and every other holiday

Patient Population & Care Focus

• Observation unit with average patient stay up to 48 hours
• Conditions include anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-op, urology, GI
• Drip medications administered (e.g., Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin)
• Background in observation or step-down MS/Tele units preferred
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips required

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin RN License
• BLS and ACLS certifications (EKG exam required during compliance)
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in specialty
• Prior travel experience required (at least 1 prior travel assignment)
• Experience with EPIC charting system

Additional Information

• Must be located outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Scrub color: any color allowed
• Eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours with potential call-back pay
• Flu and COVID vaccination policy: Travelers declining vaccination must wear a mask at all times during flu season per facility policy
