Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location: Pikeville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week (no 36-hour schedules accepted)
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required unless approved time off is granted
Float Requirements: Must float throughout all in-patient Med Surg/Telemetry units; may assist as an aide on other units if needed

Unit Information

• 340-bed Level II Trauma Center
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Unit size: 15-45 beds depending on assignment

Required Qualifications

• Valid Kentucky or Compact RN License
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry specialty
• Must have Level I or Level II Trauma experience
• Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Charting experience preferred with Care View or EPIC (training provided on-site)
• EKG test required during compliance process

• Must be a hard worker, resilient, adaptable to change, reliable, social, and a team player
• Scrub color: black
• COVID-19 vaccine required unless a medical or religious exemption is approved; if exempt, weekly testing at traveler’s expense is required

• GSA hours not guaranteed during orientation week
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• No blocked scheduling
